Model photography

Unlike its sister model genres, such as the conceptual model or the process model, the documentary model is a device whose representational purpose is closer to photographic documentation than iterative expression or experimental test-site. Constructed after the fact of the installation, the documentary model does not aim to represent an object-to-be but instead aspires towards extreme fidelity (to the point of excess facticity) of an object that already exists. When coupled with photography, the documentary model produces a double reading: the model documents another thing, but is itself also documented.
